Point B

Now vailable! It’s the newest book of poems from John Kilroy—”Point B.” Unbeknownst to us, and perhaps to him, Kilroy has been writing a trilogy, and Point B is the final stop. 104 pages.

We don’t quite understand it yet, so we’ll share Kilroy’s forward to “Point B.”

Kerplunk. You’ve landed! This little corner of Point B is a tad messy. Coasters are strewn across the coffee table; dust lightly carpets the mantel; and a big, comfy blanket is bunched up on the couch. I wanted you to experience a lived-in feel so you’d make yourself at home. You’ll see it in the poetry, too. When you’re already here, there’s no need to push. We’re in the same place. There are some fun stories, a few terrifying moments and a fair amount of good poems. Relax, and enjoy. I did. Point B is group quilting and volunteer fire brigades. Heart and action. Some of you got to Point B long before I did. Some of you rode my two books of poems—”Torque” and “Proof Of Flight”—to get here. No rush to define it. Our culture has no words for it. But, poetry works. Yes, indeed. Poetry works.

Love & Profound Fun,

John

Anyways, you may have to sit with this book for a while. You’ll likely be in Point B. You’ll just have to figure out what, or where, Point B is.

Altogether, after a journey through all three books, Kilroy provides us with a pretty astonishing adventure, really. Can’t find anything like it anywhere else.

And maybe that sounds like you.

Oh, yes, poetry works.
